BASREC
The BASREC format was revised in 2015. There are no regular meetings. The initiative to propose a meeting at the GSEO (Group of Senior Energy Officials) level on an energy issue of common interest can be taken by any of the BASREC countries when they see such a need. Under the revised format, no BASREC meetings at minister’s level are foreseen, for the time being. More on the revised format.
BASREC – the Baltic Sea Region Energy Cooperation – was founded in 1998 by the ministers for energy of the region and the European Commission.
Before the revised format BASREC represented a regional forum for dialogue on energy policy and global climate change issues with an emphasis on the promotion of energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy and other sustainable supply sources.
Projects
Under the revised format of BASREC, there is no new budget framework and thus no finance to projects foreseen after 2015.
